Nina Dobrev Goes Upfront for The CW

Taking care of some media duties, Nina Dobrev was spotted at the CW Upfronts Presentation in New York City today (May 17).

The “Vampire Diaries” starlet smiled as she posed for photos alongside gal pal AnnaSophia Robb and signed autographs for the lucky fans that got to meet her.

In career news, Nina recently commented on the notion that she should star in the film adaptation of the sexy book du jour “Fifty Shades of Grey.”

Ms. Dobrev noted, “All I’ve heard is that it’s very scandalous, to say the least. I haven’t read it, but who knows? I mean, well, I guess we’ll have to see.”

What about her boyfriend Ian Somerhalder in the male lead? “I don’t know if that’s a good idea. I think it’s best for any of the actors on the ‘Vampire Diaries’ to kind of do their own things … and create new characters. And as much as you try when you shoot a movie, if it’s two of the same people, the fans will always see you as … they’ll see me as Elena and they’ll see him as Damon if we do a film together.”

Halle Berry & Nahla: Sweet Shopping Duo

Spending some mommy/daughter time together, Halle Berry took her daughter Nahla for a quick shopping session at CVS in West Hollywood, CA on Wednesday afternoon (May 16).

The Academy Award-winning actress kept her look casual in a floor length flowing black skirt, see through brown top and sandals as she helped her adorable daughter do some after school shopping.

In other news, the “X-Men” actress recently opened up about her frustration with the paparazzi in the United States, and has even talked about moving elsewhere with stricter law enforcement.

In a recent interview with Extra, the gorgeous actress explained she wants to take her concerns to President Barack Obama adding, “You know, I think I’m going to call Obama and say, ‘Look, can you help us? I know this seems like a little issue right now, but it’s a big issue in our lives and our lives at the school and our children being protected.”

She added, “There are no laws here that protect our children and, as a mom coming to the school … not only my child, but all the children that are there. It’s just wrong, wrong, wrong.”

The Cast of “Madagascar 3″ Gather for Cannes Photocall

Tending to promotional duties overseas, the cast of “Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted” attended a photocall for their film during the 65th Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, France today (May 17).

Proving to be quite the star-studded spectacle, co-stars Jada Pinkett Smith, Chris Rock, Jessica Chastain and David Schwimmer were all on-hand for the snap frenzy.

As for the flick itself, the family-friendly animation is centered on characters “Alex, Marty, Gloria and Melman are still fighting to get home to their beloved Big Apple. Their journey takes them through Europe where they find the perfect cover: a traveling circus, which they reinvent - Madagascar style.”

Also featuring voice performances by Ben Stiller, Sacha Barno Cohen and Cedric the Entertainer, the project is scheduled for a June 8th Stateside release.

Jennifer Connelly Touches Down in Cannes

Joining a swarm of fellow A-list attendees, Jennifer Connelly, hubby Paul Bettany and daughter Agnes were spotted arriving at a airport in Paris, France earlier today (May 17).

Keeping it casual for their travel plans, the adorable trio touched down in an array of comfy tops and classic blue jeans.

In career news, they say there is a first time for everything, and Jenn got a taste of that when she agreed to dye her hair blonde for the first time in her career for her latest film, “Virgina.”

During an earlier screening for the project, Connelly opened up about the the dramatic transformation, telling press, “I felt like she was really her own creature. I actually had a lot of fun being blonde, but not as much fun getting to blonde. It was very time-consuming, but the upkeep wasn’t bad because she didn’t have to be perfect.”

The youthful 41-year-old admitted, “She is definitely very different from my other roles,” said Connelly. “She is not very well, so I spent some time doing a lot of medical research.”

Donna Summer Passes Away at 63

She was known as the Queen of Disco music in the 1970s, and sadly Donna Summer died this morning (May 17).

The “Hot Stuff” songstress reportedly lost her battle with cancer, and passed away at an undisclosed location in Florida.

As of late, Donna had been working on a new album and was trying to finish the project despite her illness. Summer didn’t reveal the extent of her sickness, and instead kept things to herself.

Donna Summer (63) won five Grammy Awards during her long and illustrious career, scoring huge hits like “She Works Hard for Her Money,” “Last Dance,” and “Bad Girls.”

“Gossip Girl” Confirms Sixth Season Will Be Its Last

After five highly-successful seasons, “Gossip Girl” has officially announces the sixth rendition will be the show’s last.

Gossip Girl’s final offering will include just 11 episodes according to TV Line, and fans of the CW hit can undoubtedly expect a lot of drama, “Serena has gone off the grid, beyond even the reach of Gossip Girl. Her friends fear for the worst and hope for the best, but even they can’t imagine where they will ultimately find her,” the network explained.

Additionally, the season will follow Nate’s mission to reveal Gossip Girl’s true identity, and in a statement to Parade Chace Crawford (Nate) calls the ending “bittersweet.”

“For me, it’s going to be…tough to leave New York City. And it’s definitely an end of an era. It was college for everyone really,” he explains.

Crawford also gave us a little insight as to what we can expect to not see during the final season when he dished about how he would like the series to end saying, “If I got to write the show, it would be a very different thing. I would make Chuck Gossip Girl and I would turn my character into Patrick Bateman from American Psycho. That would be a weird twist of events,” the actor told press.

Marion Cotillard: “De Rouille et D’Os” Photocall

Keeping busy at the 65th Cannes Film Festival, Marion Cotillard was spotted at a photocall for her new film “De Rouille et D’Os” (Rust and Bone) today (May 17).

The “Inception” actress was all smiles as she posed for the press and fans that gathered outside the Palais des Festivals in a pretty peach dress.

In a recent interview, Marion talked about what drew her to play the role of Stephanie in the Jacques Audirad-directed flick.

“On the whole when I read a script … I immediately understand the character. With Stephanie I reached the end of the script and I still didn’t know who she was. I said to Jacques, I’m a bit scared, I don’t know how this is going to work. And he said, ‘I don’t know either.’”

The “My Prerogative” singer gave a high-energy performance of his brand new single “Don’t Let Me Die,” a tribute to his late ex-wife Whitney Houston.

And from the lyrics, it was obvious that Brown is having a hard time dealing with the “I Will Always Love You” songstress’ death.

Bobby sang, “I don’t know how to live without you / I need you here… I guess I messed up pretty bad / I didn’t know who you were / I didn’t know what we had…. Now I’m stuck living in the past, trying to get the pieces back / But I guess now you’re gone.”
