Looking down in the dumps as she prepares to separate from her short-lived husband, Kim Kardashian was spotted for first time since announcing her divorce on Monday (October 31).

With no ring and looking a bit worn down, the E! reality star passed through security at LAX Airport in Los Angeles with her assistant by her side.

Set to make the long trip around the globe to Australia, Kim revealed her parting from Kris Humphries earlier in the morning, telling, “I had hoped this marriage was forever but sometimes things don’t work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best.”

Meanwhile, her partner of 72 days later told, “I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce. I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make it work… I’m committed to this marriage and everything this covenant represents.”

Of the couple’s split, Kardashian’s close friend Brittny Gastineau told Us magazine, “I feel bad for any couple that tries to make it. Kim has been my best friend for years and I know she is so strong. I have faith in her.”

Having settled into life as a single mother, Elin Nordegren was spotted tending to her costume-clad kiddies in Palm Beach, Florida on Halloween (October 31).

The model and former wife of pro golfer Tiger Woods dutifully dropped Sam Alexis and Charlie Axel off at school while receiving plenty of help from nannies along the way.

The sighting comes amidst rumors that Miss Nordegren is moving on with her love life - though the claims are far from being confirmed.

They are genuinely excited when they learn that Melissa is pregnant. But when she loses her job and they are evicted from the motel where they live, things go from bad to worse.”

Giving a glimpse of what’s to come, the trailer for the upcoming movie “We Need to Talk About Kevin” has debuted via iTunes Movie Trailers (watch above).

The suspense picture is led by what’s been described as an Oscar-worthy performance by Tilda Swinton, who plays the narrating lead role of Eva.

As for the storyline, “We Need to Talk About Kevin” tells the tale of “the mother of a teenage boy who went on a high-school killing spree trying to deal with her grief — and feelings of responsibility for her child’s actions — by writing to her estranged husband.”

Due in theaters on January 27, 2012, the film co-stars Ezra Miller and John C. Reilly while directed by Cannes Palme d’Or nominee Lynne Ramsay.
